Who is ToastRackTV?

They call him Pestily’s “dad” but ToastRackTV’s real name is Cliff. He grew up in Melbourne, Australia the oldest son of a scientist and a librarian. He developed a passion for home computers and taught himself to program in BASIC and Z-80 machine code. He and his father turned their love of Dungeons and Dragons Edition 1 into text adventure games for the Sinclair ZX-81 home computer in 1981 when he was in high school. Those games sold internationally and can still be played today in an emulator.

His IT career in the 80s and 90s ranged from working on the game The Hobbit for Melbourne House to developing the first CD-ROM in Australia to designing the home pages of Telstra, BHP and the Victorian Government. Then in a change of direction he taught himself film editing and went on to edit episodes of Mythbusters, The Amazing Race and Dancing with the Stars. But when COVID lockdown shut down the TV industry he turned his hand to streaming, and this became his full time passion to this day.

Tarkov Dad, Yes. Biological Dad, No. The meme started because so many viewers asked me if I was Pestily’s dad on Twitch. Pestily soon heard about it and started calling me “dad” himself! Now even AquaFPS calls me grandpa.

I like to play Tarkov like a stealth survival game. I once did level 1-28 with no kills whatsoever and am currently doing Deadlyslob’s Hardcore Challenge.
